– MAJOR IN MATHEMATICS
Goal
Provide professional, scientific, technological instructions, and training to prospective mathematics teachers.
General Objectives
Produce quality mathematics graduates who are globally competitive to man the needs of the teaching profession.
Specific Objectives
- To develop students’ ability to describe fundamental concepts and procedures in mathematics and their applications;
- To provide the student with mathematical training that will enable them to teach courses in nathematics;
- To develop the creative potential of the students through research.
BACHELOR IN SECONDARY EDUCATION (BSE)
– MAJOR IN TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION
Goal
To provide opportunities and skills development in technology and Livelihood education.
General Objectives
To produce graduates who are equipped with pedagogical theories, practical experiences, values and work ethics and are confident in their roles and contribution to the nation.
Specific Objectives
- To promote and strengthen the skills training of students in technology and livelihood education;
- To provide the student with a broad background appropriate to a wide variety of technology and livelihood related professions, including teaching, as well as background for future specialization;
- To turn out student who can undertake purposeful studies and extension activities to improve quality of life;
- To develop competent and dynamic technology and livelihood teachers who can meet the challenges of a globally competitive world.
BACHELOR IN SECONDARY EDUCATION (BSE)
– MAJOR IN PHYSICAL SCIENCE
Goal
To produce highly motivated and committed science mentors who will be responsible for the development of the country’s future leaders to spur the socio-economic development of the nation competitive with the rest of Asia.
General Objectives
To produce science teachers who demonstrate motivation towards love of students and possess commitment to excellence, and develop scientifically literate citizenry.
Specific Objectives
- To improve students’ understanding of funamental concepts in earth science, physics and chemistry;
- To provide students with training in the use of the essential elements to teach earth science, physics, chemistry concepts included in the physics, chemistry and science education;
- To update student’s knowledge of recent research findings in physics, chemistry, and science education.
